Remote Sensing for Cities
Remote Sensing for Cities is a new initiative aiming at providing evidence for the design of tomorrow’s green cities. The goal is to provide both a scientific research hub as well as an interface for interactions between scientific and societal actors and planning authorities. Satellites observe the world by measuring the reflected radiation of the surface we live on. Each of these snapshots, put in the right context tells a unique story, about our planet, our cities and ultimately about us as humans. We put the data collected by hundreds of satellites to work in those areas where the majority of people live – in cities. Cities provide connections, knowledge and opportunities. Embedded in this matrix, valuable habitat for People and Nature alike can be established. Share with us your research outcomes, your city story or your opinions and views.
