Research Focus
My research activities are in the fields of global freshwater resources; water scarcity; climate impacts on terrestrial ecosystems; human impacts on the global water system and the biosphere; religion/ethics and water.
My current flagship group at PIK (OPEN project) works on improved quantification of interrelated planetary boundaries and of societal opportunities to stay within these guardrails.
